I AM NOT GOING TO BURY MY SON! MY SON IS GOING TO BURY ME!
Black Cinema Quote
John Q – John Q. Archibald displays his passion at denying the thought of his son dying due to a failing heart and inadequate healthcare coverage. As a father, this is the most personally touching cinematic moment I have ever experienced. We must do what ever it takes to plan, protect and provide for our families.

I loved this movie! What parent wouldn’t have done what John Q. did in an effort to save their child?
I love this movie because it encompasses several social issues. Such as the importance and benefits of family, Universal Health Care, Domestic Violence, and Poverty.
I have three favorite scenes from this movie:
My first scene is when Kimberly Elise (John Q’s wife) says to the police, “I support my husband in everything that he does” after hearing about her husband holding people hostage at the hospital. You have to have real trust and faith in your husband in order to automatically support him without knowing all of the details of the hostage situation.
I also like the scene when John Q comes into the hospital room to talk to his son one last time, right before he attempts to kill himself in order to give his heart to his son. In less than 5 minutes John Q gives his son extremely important life lessons. He tells his son to make a lot of money because life can be hard without it, to treat women like princesses, and that his son’s word is his bond.
After watching the movie for the 3rd or 4th time, the very last scene of the movie made me cry. This is when John Q is in the cop car going back to jail and his son runs to catch his dad’s attention and when he does he says “Thank You.” This is when John Q’s son realizes the sacrifices that his dad made for him. I wish every kid understood the magnitude of a parent’s love. If kids had this understanding in their adolescent years maybe they would have more appreciation for what we do, and maybe they would take what we as adults tell them more seriously.
