Obama Assassination Insurance

My son recently asked me what could cause a race riot to break-out. Interesting question, I pondered. My response was, if Barrack Obama was assassinated. After a 10 second pause I retract from that statement and said that he may have to be in office for a while and really begin to show black people that he is a man of his soapbox. At that point of heightened emotional investment on the part of black people, would his assassination lead to violence on the streets.

As I don’t want to live through a depression, I don’t want to live through a nationwide race riot. We as black people have over the years executed curtain tactics in our struggle for equality. I’d like to hope that we have moved beyond marches and riots. It is more difficult to take that approach when we are so divided in our political and social views caused by a lack of leadership. There is more power in our dollar, our family commitments, and our academic pursuits and in our political participation. Yet when someone takes into his own hands the life of a rare and necessary General, there is no telling what hell may be unleashed.

John Wilkes BoothIf Obama wins the highest office in the land, he will piss off a whole lot of Palinist, Populist, KKKist that are still to this day spewing hatred at Republican rallies. Obama needs an insurance policy. I’m in insurance… let me think… well insurance is to indemnify beneficiaries by providing a monetary replacement for that which was insured. So with a broader sense of the word insurance, below is my Barack Obama Presidential life ASSURance plan.

Even though Sara Palin does not know the duties of the Vice President of the United States, let’s be clear. There are only two duties of the VP. The first of which is to preside as President of the Senate, in doing so he (or she, as if) is only to participate in the event of a Senate tie vote. The second duty is to stand ready to take the office of Presidency in the absence of the President. This absence could be due to incapacitation, resignation, removal by impeachment, or by the death of the President. Outside of that he must be assigned duties by the President. The Constitution assigns no executive powers to the vice president, in performing such duties he or she acts only as an agent of the President.

The very first thing Barack Obama should do as President is name Joe Biden as the Secretary of State who will be the lead foreign ambassador of the United States. The second thing is to name Jesse Jackson as his Vice President. Now let me state for the record, I’m not a Jesse Jackson for President supporter, but Jesse has proven himself to be less desirable to white people relative to Obama. I will personally guarantee that no white man will ever think of pointing a gun towards Obama if Jackson is next in line. The third thing Obama should do is get the new Vice President to go on an 8 year vacation where he will never been seen, let alone be in the same place at the same time as Obama.  The fourth thing Obama should do is find a way to ensure that Jesse himself won’t have him assassinated. Hence Louis Farrakhan could not be in the running.

Just a thought

From the point of view of a non-American, I just hope Obama’s foreign policy is a little more Doveish and a little less Hawkish.
